NAPEX 2001 ANNOUNCES AUCTIONEER
NAPEX announces that the Alan Blair firm will conduct the NAPEX 2001 auction. Alan Blair is a dealer member of the American Philatelic Society (#8708-056285-D) and the American Stamp Dealers Association. The auction will take place during the 28th National Stamp Exhibition of NAPEX at The McLean Hilton at Tysons Corner, 7920 Jones Branch Drive, McLean, VA 22102.

The auction will include a mint copy of one of the 95 known $1 Candle and Rushlight Holder invert errors (Scott #1610c). The original 95 copies were purchased by employees of the CIA. This error, therefore, is more commonly referred to as the "CIA invert." The current Scott value for this invert error is $14,500, however recent auction realizations are closer to $11,000.

Alan Blair is now accepting consignments for the NAPEX 2001 auction. He can be reached at 5407 Lakeside Avenue, Suite 4, Richmond, VA 23228-6061, phone/FAX 1-800-689-5602, or alanblair@prodigy.net.
