Special Display of the
National Stamp Collection of the
Smithsonian National Postal Museum
Three certified plate proofs of the 1907 Jamestown
Exposition stamps will be on display at NAPEX
from the National Stamp Collection of the
Smithsonian National Postal Museum.
Certified plate proofs are the last printed proof of
the plate before printing the stamps.
These plate proofs are each unique, with the
approval signatures and date.

be issued by the United States Postal Service with a ceremony

United Nations First Day Issue at NAPEX:
UNPA First Day of Issue Ceremony
Six commemorative stamps will
be issued by the United Nations Postal Administration
with a ceremony on Friday, June 1 at 1 PM
at NAPEX

Robert Gray, Chief of the United
Nations
Postal Administration, New York, will
attend
the first day ceremony at NAPEX 2007
for the
six stamps and souvenir card with the
theme of
Peaceful Visions.
The
images, are water color paintings by
Canadian artist Slavka Kolesar. She
states the stamps “...show figures
engaged in the inward contemplation of
a common vision that animates them.”
The six stamps are issued in panes
of 20 with marginal inscriptions
using the three currencies of the United
Nations Postal Administration—US
dollars (39˘ & 84˘), Swiss francs (1,20
F.s & 1,80 F.s), and euros (
i0,55
& i1,25
). The card depicts the new
stamps with a statement by the UN
Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. The
UNPA will sell at face value (using
current exchange rates) and cancel
these six stamps at
Booth #65
during show hours all three show days.
