David Lee
1941 - 2000

David Garth Lee, executive secretary for the United States Stamp Society (formerly known as the Bureau Issues Association), and Board member of NAPEX, died on July 10, 2000, following a stroke.

David was born July 13, 1941. He graduated from the University of Virginia in 1963 with a bachelor's degree in aeronautical engineering, and he spent his entire 36-year professional career at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Carderock, Md., where, among his other accomplishments, he invented and patented the thrust deflector and force augmentor.

Our condolences to his wife of 30 years, Patricia; two sons, William and Kevin; and his sister, Rose Lee.

David was a good friend of NAPEX and joined the our Board in 1999, ably serving as our publicity manager. We shall miss his energy, enthusiasm and his dedication to philately.
