Philanthropy

NAPEX distributes the proceeds from its annual show in support of numerous philatelic organizations and initiatives. Since 2003, we have contributed more than $38,000! This page lists our recent grants and donations. Multi-year pledges are listed only once, in the year they were completed.

2010

  • $400 to the Springfield (VA) Stamp Club

  • $500 to the Europa Study Unit in honor of the late Stephen Luster

  • $12,500 to the American Philatelic Research Library for a study carrel (five year pledge)

  • $1,000 sponsorship of an NPM/NAPEX scholarship to Ryan Ellis for his research project “Disinfected Mail: Disease, Panic and the Post Office in Late 19th Century America”

  • $1,000 unrestricted gift to the American Philatelic Society in honor of the late Charles J. Peterson

  • $1,500 sponsorship of the Smithsonian National Postal Museum's Alphabetilately exhibit

  • $750 publication grant for The Philately of Twentieth Century Postwar Reconstruction by Stephen Luster

  • $750 publication grant for Watermarks on Postage Stamp Paper by Louis E. Repeta

  • $250 unrestricted gift to the American Philatelic Society in honor of the late Henry Hahn
     
  • $1,000 unrestricted gift to the Smithsonian National Postal Museum in honor of the late W. Wilson Hulme
